In infrastructure, energy, health, education, climate, digital technology and agriculture, substantial investments are being made to meet legitimate public expectations, support inclusive growth and accelerate the continent’s economic, social and territorial integration.
Yet no development ambition, however generous, can produce lasting effects without a higher standard in the design, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of projects.
Recurrent delays, budget overruns, weak ownership, flawed governance, diluted accountability and skills gaps still too often undermine public, private and community projects. To address this structural fragility, the Project Management Practitioners Network – PMPN seeks to make project management not merely a set of procedures, but a true art of turning resources into results, intentions into impact and commitments into trust.
Who we are
The Project Management Practitioners Network is a pan-African professional community— independent, demanding and committed to excellence— dedicated to raising project management practice across the continent.
It brings together practitioners, public institutions, businesses, universities, research centres, technical partners and field actors around a founding conviction: however abundant resources may be, they matter only when they can be ordered, governed and converted into measurable, useful, equitable and sustainable results.

To become Africa’s reference platform for sustainable, ethical, inclusive and scientifically grounded project management, deeply rooted in the continent’s historical, institutional, economic and social realities.
To unite, equip and inspire development actors through knowledge capitalisation, methodological capacity building, the spread of proven practices and the promotion of professional standards that support performance, transparency and impact.
Built on five pillars— Openness, Science, Ethics, Responsibility and Excellence — PMPN promotes a professional culture where intellectual rigour, integrity, continuous learning and the pursuit of impact combine to make the project an instrument of transformation and collective dignity.
Our scientific committee
PMPN’s intellectual and institutional legitimacy rests decisively on its International Scientific Committee, conceived as a body for reflection, guidance, vigilance and quality assurance. Bringing together professors, doctors, researchers, seasoned practitioners and sector experts from Africa and the diaspora, the committee is mandated to:
- 1.Review, consolidate and validate frameworks, standards and tools adapted to African realities, without lowering the bar of international best practice;
- 2.Stimulate applied, rigorous and contextualised research on project management in Africa, to document practices, clarify constraints, highlight successes and identify emerging models;
- 3.Safeguard the scientific quality, ethical integrity and operational relevance of the network’s initiatives.

Our code of conduct and ethics
Trust is the primary asset of any professional community called to engage with states, international organisations, funders, businesses and communities. That is why every PMPN member adheres to a Code of Conduct and Ethics founded on integrity, transparency, impartiality, fidelity to commitments, responsible stewardship of resources and accountability.
This code expresses a formal commitment to beneficiaries, institutions and development partners. It upholds a cardinal requirement: every project worthy of the name must be delivered with competence, discernment, probity and a strong sense of public responsibility.
